Today was an interesting day to say the least. We visited Hawa Mahal. It's the palace that was used by the queens of the 1700s to "enjoy" celebrations. They weren't allowed outside so they watched the festivities from windows. They also wore 50kg in clothing/jewels so they had to be carried around. Yuck!
Next, following the theme of real people doing everyday activities, we went to a flower and vegetable market. Our tuk tuk driver happily accomodates our interesting requests.
Then the monsoon visited briefly, creating more rivers where streets once were.
Finally, after a happy coincidence, I met an old friend. I tell a story often of the guy who predicted my sobriety date six months out. It's him. Seeing him after 20 years was surreal and he remembered me too. We made a pact not to let 20 years go by again.
He helped create a foundation for girls in Pushkar. It sounds amazing!

Notes:
1. Our Hawa Mahal guide told us after the 42nd person wanted their picture with us, that 75% of India lives outside the big cities. Many of the rural Rajasthanis only visit Jaipur every 5ish years, so seeing a white person is exciting.
2. The homemade food at All Seasons Homestay has healed us. Delhi belly is at bay .... momentarily.
